The feather in the Company’s cap is 1000 sq. mt wine cellar for preparation and ageing, housing 100,000 bottles as well as the 80m sq. mt tasting room, finished to be built in mid 2003
As to comply with the completion exigencies of the whole wine-making process and exploit fully the productive potential which is estimated in about 200,000 bottles, and also to complete some structures already in progress (we mention the panoramic tower which former projects have destined to administration and commercial bureaus), an expansion design of the wine cellar was processed whose architecture focuses to achieve mainly 3 goals:
• rational structure to be set in the landscape context and compatible with a positive environmental impact (where environment means the complex of physical, cultural, social and aesthetic factors concerning the individuals and the communities and which determines their shape, character, relations and development);
• a serviceable structure in view of the expected bottling percentage and the relevant storage requirements;
• a structure being coherent with the development of collective interests for the community’s benefit: civics for school students, conferences, meetings, courses for sommeliers and events, such as to promote the municipality of Gussago among the major protagonists of the Lombard oenology.
